Freddie Flintoff - a working class hero. A winner with a smile on his face. A genuine genuine bloke who can actually form sentences. For me, one of the funniest sights of last year was watching him trying to hold it together after his monuMENTAL post-Ashes celebration. Top man!

As an Aussie it made me choke to see Freddie there as the champion. But you have to give it to the pommies they did beat Australia fair and square. Well done to Colin and his countrymen.

Yeh, and I can't tell you what it has felt like to be an England supporter ever since that Warne ball to Gatting. It was a great series - and we beat India today with a young, inexperienced side with x5 senior players missing. We'll give you boys a fight now, that's for sure.
Liverpool are our jinx team - haven't beaten them in about 200 years or something. It's all in the draw. Having said that, Birmingham rolled over and died. It'd be amazing for us to get to the final. We have won it in 1964, 1975 and 1980 (the latter, when we beat Arsenal!!!!).
re. Ashton: bet you wouldn't guess that he's only 22 years old - looks about 32! He was the difference between the teams. He's only gonna get better too. (By the way, referring back to an earlier discussion, 'Blowing Bubbles' REALLY is the Irons' song.)
Have you been following the Commonwealth Games? Had to laugh when I tuned in to see a thrilled Brit crowing about the 'achievement' of FOURTH place - that's the winning attitude, eh! I am a sportaholic - Dave the Dan, on the other hand, only likes bowls - yes, BOWLS! (probably because he like talking balls).
You pommies beat us at cricket. It's funny response in this country. We accept it as fair game. We accept a loss on the chin but we certainly don't like it and take it to heart. We then set out to beat the opposition next time.

It's not alright not winning for about 15 years (although it makes victory all the sweeter when it comes, I suppose).
